The price for our puppies is $1000. for pet home adoptions.
We request a $200. deposit to hold a puppy, and the pick of the litter goes in the order of received deposits. The list of received deposits is published on the Available Puppies page.
We have a "public group" on facebook called Sportsman Standard Poodles. I encourage you to check out this group and see comments and pictures of our past puppies as they grow with their new families. Also, you can see announcements of litters along with pictures and videos of our new puppies.
All of our puppies are sold on a non-breeding contract unless special consideration is given. The puppies will have had their first shot, will be regularly dewormed while in our home and will also come with a 2 year puppy health agreement.
At Sportsman Standard Poodles, we encourage scheduled visits when possible. We know that it is not always possible due to distance. Once you choose a name for your puppy, we call him/her by the proper name.
We do ask that on visit day, you do not visit any areas where there might be other dogs. This is to prevent the possible spread of virus to our kennel.
Your puppy will be cuddled and played with on a daily basis.(most of the day in some cases) They live in our home with us until they are 8 weeks old and go home with their new owners. They will also be exposed to other dogs, cats and children. Basic training will have been started and your puppy will be used to all typical household noises.(vaccuum, phone, dishwasher etc). We get the puppies familiar with a crate as well.
Sportsman Standard Poodles are among the many that are discouraging tail docking. We are hoping that the CKC will soon accept the full tail. It is illegal to dock the tail in New Brunswick. We do not remove the dew claws because we do not want to risk infection that would tax your developing puppie's immune system.
Your puppy will have a baby blanket ready to take home. This blanket will have the mother's scent and will be a great comfort for your puppy during the first night with it's new family.
Sportsman Standard Poodles offers ongoing support throughout the life of your puppy. If for any reason the circumstances in your life change and you have to re-home your dog, we want to be a part of that process. As a last resort, we will take the dog back into our care until a suitable home is found.
