Beautiful Puppies
We have built our reputation on good health and the absolute best of temperaments in our puppies. Our dams and sires are very calm, intelligent and all come from clear tested lines.
Beautiful Albert County
Sportsman Standard Poodles is owned and operated by Wendy, Len and Jade Ranger. We are blessed with a beautiful 32 acre property that is located in Hopewell Hill, in the heart of Albert County, New Brunswick. It is a 10 minute drive to the Bay of Fundy beach "Mary's Point", and only 15 minutes to the beautiful Waterside Beach.
Our breeding program has a well earned reputation of delivering calm, well adjusted puppies that are eager to please and easily trained. Our breeding dogs are our pets and live in our home as part of our family. The puppies are born in a special whelping room just off our living room. This allows privacy for our Dam from our other dogs. All births are supervised and the puppies are closely watched for the duration they remain with us. As soon as possible, we move the litter into our living room so they can be a big part of our family life while they are with us. The puppies adapt to all regular household sounds such as vaccuum cleaner, phones ringing, kitchen appliances, T.V., and best of all, lots of laughter.
Our 12 year old daughter Jade and her friends share their love equally among all the puppies, and seem to find new favorites everyday. We often have a yard full of puppies and kids, and laughter. Jade takes on a large part of the responsibility of caring for puppies as part of her homeschool lifeskills program and loves every minute of it. She takes the snuggling and cuddling very seriously, and loves to teach little visitors the best way to hold a puppy. Your puppy will probably love music, as Jade sings to them almost all day.
We recently bought our home in Hopewell Hill and are looking forward to the challenge of restoring it to it's original splendor. Len is a very skilled cabinetmaker and an artist in his own right when it comes to working with wood. The most exciting thing about our home is that our fur family has lots of room to live in our space, over 4000 sq ft., right along with us. The home is not fancy but it is bursting at the seams with love.
I am a stay at home mom and I have homeschooled Jade for the last few years due to a learning disability and lack of resources at our local school. Our breeding program has been a positive experience for Jade and she expertly works right along with us for whelping and rearing the puppies.
We believe that anyone wanting to accept a new puppy into their family needs to remember that this will be a long term committment (12-15 yrs). There are many things to take into consideration in order to make the comittment. Far too many dogs end up with the SPCA or advertised on Kijiji because people had to move, or didn't have enough time to spend with the dog. We would like to ask that you really think it through before you purchase a puppy. If for any reason you find you can't keep one of the dogs purchased from us, we would like you to contact us so we can discuss possible resolutions.
Our home is inspected and licensed by the New Brunswick SPCA for our in-home breeding program. Our license number is 0036.
